News about the FamilySearch website

FamilySearch is one of my favourite websites – there is lots of great information and it is free!  I also appreciate that they are continually looking for ways to improve – and they are very frequently adding both new FH records, new tools, and features.

Keeping up with changes on websites is a challenge.  One way is to look for What’s New documents.  FamilySearch puts one out each month and I was particularly interested in part of the May issue which was published on 26 May:

“We only have a few new features this month because we’re working on significant improvements to FamilySearch. While the improvements are being tested, there may be a few times when the system will not be available. We have scheduled times when few users access the system. We hope you will be as excited about the improvements as we are.” (https://familysearch.org/blog/en/whats-new-on-familysearch-may-2016-2/ )

May be some system outages?  Probably only for the Tree portion of FamilySearch?  But at least they are giving us a warning so we don’t wonder what is going on.

And we look forward to seeing the improvements.
